Back | ZOPA

The Peer-to-Peer Finance Association was established in 2011, with Zopa as a founding member. Basic returns ranges between 3.1% to 5% but is subject to peer-to-peer market conditions. ZOPA was one of the first P2P lenders in the UK. It was created in 2005 by Giles Andrews, James Alexander, Richard Duvall, David Nicholson, Tim Parlett.

The company used to have a yearly party in Central London for its lenders, so they can meet and network, but that stopped somewhere between 2015 ~ 2019. ZOPA stands for Zone Of Possible Agreement, a term specifying the bounds within which agreement can be reached between two negotiating parties. The company has now closed its P2P operations to concentrate more on banking.
